Earthquake rattles Iran in midst of ongoing war with Israel

A 5.1 Magnitude earthquake hit Iran’s northern regions on Friday, 20th June 2025 as per the United States Geological Survey. This earthquake struck in the middle of Israel’s continuous bombings amid the ongoing war.

The epicenter of the earthquake is reported at a depth of 10 KM about 36 KM South West of Semnan, Iran at time 2025-06-20 17:49:14 GMT (13:49:14 EST)

Iran is currently engaged in all out war with Israel for over 8 days now. There are constant rumors going around that this might have been a nuclear test. Considering Semnan is a key missile hub for Iran, the nation could have done an underground test, which if true, will deter United States and other European countries from entering the war.
